Six people and seven dogs are displaced after a camper fire Monday, January 5, according to Roanoke County Fire and Rescue. Firefighters responded at 3:50 p.m. to reports of a residential structure fire from a camper in the backyard on the 6100 block of Newport Road.
A dog was rescued from a Putnam County house fire Sunday afternoon thanks to a quick response from crews. Firefighters performed a high-stakes technical rescue to save a dog after she survived six days trapped in a 20-foot-deep dry well beneath a home.
