AMD’s Ryzen CPU announcements this year fall firmly into the latter camp—these are all gently tweaked variants of chips that launched in 2024 and 2025.
While Intel had an early lead with the MSI Claw 8 AI+’s Arc 140V iiGPU performance, the Asus ROG Xbox Ally X took the lead back for AMD with the new Ryzen Z2 Extreme which was a major win for the Ryzen Z2 series as a whole. However, the Intel G3 could change things back in Intel’s favor.
AMD's refreshed Ryzen 7 9850X3D is up to 27% faster than Intel's Core Ultra 9 285K: up to 48% faster in Counter-Strike 2, and 32% faster in Cyberpunk 2077.
