Outrage, quiet and loud, echoes across Portland as protests against Border Patrol shooting continue
Filled with quiet outrage, a stream of about 125 protesters — some carrying flowers or battery-lit candles — silently marched several blocks Friday evening to the Southeast Portland parking lot where two Venezuelan nationals were shot and wounded during a Border Patrol stop on Thursday.

Seated atop an Andalusian horse he called Príncipe, the man told reporters that his name was Mateo Garcia and that he was a local horse trainer with a ranch in Washington, parents who emigrated from Mexico and Russia and an uncle who had been detained by ICE.
Many decided to protest Saturday in response to the shootings by federal agents in Portland and Minneapolis, with some attending a town hall with Rep. Maxine Dexter.
