King tides raise flooding risk along San Francisco Bay shorelines
King tides are increasing the risk of coastal flooding along Bay Area waterfronts on Friday, particularly in the North Bay.
King tides are returning to the Bay Area this week, officials announced, and with them comes the unique opportunity to witness Northern California’s vibrant marine life, as well as its forgotten maritime history.
The new record on the Petaluma River was likely to be broken again by late morning Saturday as the king tides were expected to peak amid the incoming rainstorm, said National Weather Service
The National Weather Service has issued coastal flood and wind advisories for parts of the Bay Area through the weekend.
