Many people may not realize how much you can control the shape and size of “woody” hydrangeas. These are the panicle type. Examples of these include limelight, little lime, pinky winky, quick fire, fire light. (You can’t do this with other types but you can try to make them a little more full by removing dead branches and pruning right after they bloom, as opposed to in early spring…but prune very little!)I have trained a shrub I planted in 2012 into a tree. Nurseries do it so why can’t we? Vide
