5 comments | California takes paid time off (PTO) seriously—all accrued and unused vacation days must not expire! State law mandates that unused PTO carry over, and employers can’t force employees to forfeit it. Compare that to states with less stringent PTO laws, where the rules can vary wildly or employers can institute “use-it-or-lose-it” policies.
