For Disneyland’s 10th anniversary in 1965—known as the “Tencennial Celebration”—a charming performance took place in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle featuring dancers dressed as birthday cake slices and candles. Set to a cheerful Sherman Brothers tune, the whimsical routine was part of a televised special hosted by Walt Disney, celebrating a decade of magic and teasing future attractions. Despite a small on-stage stumble, the performance captured the playful spirit of the milestone event! (Via:

🎉 Interesting fact: Those wobbling cake costumes from Disneyland’s 1965 tenth anniversary parade were actually radio controlled, which was cutting edge for the time. The problem was the early tech was so unreliable that the cakes often drifted off course or spun the wrong way, which is why the footage looks chaotic and became a running joke among Disney staff. | Pickuplines & Memes
