This 2024 VW Amarok with only 62,000 miles came into The Car Edition for a wet belt replacement, and honestly — this engine was just moments away from catastrophe. The wet belt was in HORRIBLE condition and was absolutely on the way out. If this vehicle had been driven much longer, the belt would have snapped without warning, causing total engine failure. This is one of those jobs where timing is everything and we truly caught this one just in time! ⚠️ It got even worse once we stripped it down

This 2021 Ford Ranger with just 109,000 miles came in for what seemed like a standard wet belt replacement. But what our technician Owen found was shocking – the timing belt had completely shredded its teeth, leading to total engine failure. It didn’t just stop at broken rockers... the damage extended to bent valves, leaving this 2.0L diesel engine beyond repair. Rebuild? Not ideal for these engines. Our professional advice – replacement only. 💥 Wet belts strike again! And if you’ve got a Ford

NEW Ford 1L EcoBoost TIMING CHAIN! Is It Better Than The WET BELT? In today’s video at The Car Edition, we had a Ford Ranger 2.0 EcoBlue Diesel come into the workshop with a serious issue — a snapped wet timing belt at only 70,000 miles. The owner told us the vehicle had been serviced regularly every 6–7k miles, but once we opened the engine, the story didn’t match up. Inside it was thick with sludge, jet-black oil deposits, and signs of poor maintenance or potentially poor workmanship from a previous garage. The wet belt had snapped and even managed to clog up
